<p>^And you even do NOT need to make yourself standout at all. Just be yourself, stay cool, pursue your interests, live interesting life, get engaged in your college life, make difference for others…and yes, go to the bar on the weekend, have fun. It is your life, 4 years is a big chunk of it, another 4 at Med. School will make it 8. If you worry about 'standout" for 8 years of your life, isn’t it depressing?</p>
<p>If you are distraught over a B+ in a history class how are you going to react when your first patient dies on you? I can assure you it will happen during your 3’rd year surgery or internal medicine rotation. It happened to me and every other doctor I know. You have to ask yourself whether medicine is the right career for you if simply not making the Dean’s List is going to cause you so much anguish.</p>
