Phone. I listen in my car via Bluetooth and on my AirPods when I’m walking or at the gym. I keep a list on Libby of books to listen to.
I only listen to audiobooks in my car, so phone (Libby app) via CarPlay.
I guess I’ll clarify that I download on Libby and then use my phone as the listening device.
I did Audibles a few years ago, didn’t use too much and forgot to cancel for a few months - oops. Since then I have been downloading audio books from the local library. I listen to them via Libby app on my phone. If I’m our walking or running, I use wired earbud (in one ear - other ear free to listen for bikes passing me on the trail etc). At home, I run through speaker though it does seem to drain battery faster.
At bedtime, I take advantage of the sleep timer feature (moon symbol). I either run it for 10 minutes (repeat as needed) or select the option to run until the end of the chapter.
If you need something to lighten your mood, here it is. “The Twelve Topsy-Turvy, Very Messy Days of Christmas”. I laughed so hard. By James Patterson and Tad Safran. I’d love to see this made into a movie.
The Payback by Kashana Cauley - tragedy/comedy/drama.
In the not-too-distant future, Jada is pursued by the debt police over her student loans. They do more than threaten, and she’s done. She works with two friends to take down their loan provider & do more than get even.
I really enjoyed “ The Correspondent”. Thanks to all here who recommended it.
I also really liked “ Like Family” by Erin O White. Character driven story featuring 3 interconnected families. I bought a copy as the author is local ( to me) and a friend of a friend!
Just finished “A for Andromeda.” I wouldn’t consider it “one of the best books,” as the title of the tread requires, but it is a great piece of science fiction, and I highly recommend it.
Interestingly, the book is based on a 1962 BBC TV series by the same name. Not the other way around as it usually happens. The original show apparently was lost forever when BBC went on a tape purge, and the book is out of print, but the old copies of the book are still around. There is also a 2006 film loosely based on the show/book, but is not very good per many reviewers.
Really liked this book - Lady or the Tiger by Heather M. Herrman. A very unusual YA set in the wild west with a murderess as a protagonist. One of those books that is impossible to explain, but very fun to read.
I have to smile at his inclusion of Michelle’s book. I haven’t read it yet, but I loved her first one.
I read The Look. It’s lots of fun.
I love his lists!
I didn’t find Paper Girl so great. But Flashlight, which I have not yet finished, is a pretty compelling read.
King of Ashes, meh. A Marriage at Sea – SO good.
