online discount company “GILT Groupe”?

Agreed, ellebud. Someday I hope that my checkbook balance will sync with my taste. Until then, sigh.

I look at Gilt Groupe, but I’ve found more things at ruelala.com. There’s also hautelook.com. The latter two have new merchandise available every day at 11 Eastern time, an hour earlier than Gilt Groupe.

Booklady, have you purchased from either of these two companies? What are their return policies?

BunsenBurner - look at bagborroworsteal.com - they have hugely discounted koobas for sale. They offer steep discounts on Fridays I believe at 8 am. I bought a kooba from that site recently.

This is how it works…They have a calendar of merchandise they’ll introduce everyday at 12pm. They’ll send you an email to let you know what’s coming up. A few months ago, the site would be jammed everyday at 12. They have since improved on it. They will pull those brands off after a day or two, or when they run out.

They have introduced new, expensive skin care at half the price. I have tried a few. Their merchandise (at least the ones I have bought) are generally current season. I compare what they have against NM and Nordstrom. They also have men’s shoes, women’s designer shoes/bags.

It is a great marketing gimmick. The waitlist part is a new thing they have just implemented. By making people feel things are limited it creats a certain urgency.

BunsenBurner - I got a Kooba bag for D1 for around 250 (compatible to a coach bag price), original 5-600. She loves it. It’s more stylish and doesn’t scream “designer, expensive” like Gucci or Fendi.

My daughter and her friends at school have ordered several times from ruelala; more affordable than Gilt and usually a younger focus. I have ordered from ruelala; my husband received a new cole hann wallet! I tend to look at then men’s items and housewares more, but have looked for myself also. Gilt is higher end, but you are receiving a great price, so if you see something you like at noon, go for it as things sell out fast on both sites.

I’ve bought a few things from Rue La La. They were all returnable within a certain time frame (30 days, I think), but only for store credit. There are usually some items marked as ‘Final Sale’, and those are not returnable.

OK, I had to register - they will be selling Eva Solo kitchen “toys” tomorrow!

Well BB, what did you buy?

Based on suggestions from my CC cyber friends I joined RueLaLa and have ordered several times with good results. I like the fact their items are cheaper and returnable. :)
