My daughter finished up her online classes for the semester and tonight the theatre/musical theatre department had their end of the year banquet via zoom. They all dressed up and ate Italian food “together”. Her theatre chair and her fav professor cried-they miss their students so much. I hope everyone is lucky enough to find a program like hers. She is a senior who is graduating (BFA) in December so I’m seriously hoping they will be back on campus in the Fall.
@CMB625 That is really touching. Where does your daughter go?
@MTMom2024 she attends Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN! They are the most caring and supportive faculty.
@BrennaK just popping in to say that my family and I caught the start of The Hierarchy of Fish last Sunday and while acting on Zoom is obviously a challenge, the cast, and in particular your daughter, did a great job. She had me totally believing she was in a dorm room and handled the transitions so well - you must be super proud!
Similar to @CMB625 's story, this was heartwarming: Some kids in my D’s freshman BFA-MT class organized a surprise Zoom birthday celebration for one of the students. They held lit candles and sang to her. They even had a scavenger hunt, which had my D dashing around the house for items (exclaiming things such as, “I need popcorn kernels!!” or “Where are your CD’s from Broadway shows?”). It was so nice to hear all the happy voices and laughter coming from her room.
@upstaged I wish there was a “love” button to click, that is SO sweet! These kids become family and that is so wonderful!
