You could probably learn something from them about futility.

yeah (10char)

I know man, I’m very sad about it =(. Maybe I should have tried harder, and listened to asian scaredashell and improved my reading comprehension skills =/

Oh, are we transitioning to racial humor? Nice bro, you’re cool!!!

thats sad… they care about gpa way too much

Our validictorian got a 1750 on the SATs, he’s going to Cal Tech.

Standardized tests don’t mean too much guys. lol.

Dasherwinator- you posted this
"I don’t think you understand. A 1700 is beyond “sucking” at something. I got a 1900, which i consider a piece of sh1t score. But I didn’t study at all, so that was expected. But for someone to get a 1700, it takes more than just “not being good at tests”. And if they can’t speak english well, they do not belong at a major research university. Check this out again.
600 - 1499/ 2.45
1500 - 1799/ 2.82
1800 - 2099/ 3.12
2100 - 2400/ 3.38

-According to this you shoud have a GPA hovering around 3.00; but wait, you have a 3.99! That’s amazing! I thought you made it very clear that people can’t do better than their SAT scores predict. Props for contradicting you’re own arrogant dogma.

Awww acklements, I was leaving it up to him to realize this! Would’ve been funnier :(

you are a dog =)

Now dasher has nothing smart to say :), end of this discussion.

i got into uci with a sat score of 1500 and gpa of 3.6
these sat tests don’t mean much
i’m doing pretty well at uci now getting A’s and B’s
it’s all good :D

what major did you get in for

freshwater,
you
are
lucky

What’s your major ? If your in the sciences, then congrats cause that’s pretty impressive !

I got in to UCI with a 1670, And you know what i’m happy with that score

SAT doesn’t prove for crap, since when do you in college have to write a very GENERAL essay with 25 minutes to write it?

"The SAT measures what you need to know in college:

The SAT is a mind game that has nothing to do with skills necessary for higher education: it tests a tiny range of techniques, mainly how quickly you can choose among four or five answers without thinking deeply about any of them. For example, research shows that over 40% of reading comprehension items can be answered correctly without reading the passage. Some of the many qualities you need in college that the SAT cannot measure are writing ability, strategic reasoning, higher order thinking skills, experience, persistence and creativity."

At least with a high GPA you know they’re at least competent or a hard worker, there are lots of idiots i know who have gotten a higher scores but doesn’t mean they’re more well suited to college than me.

bummer… 2040 and flat out denied

wow dam, tehlunatic, im sure you’re going to cal anyways, thats stupid that they would deny you and take people with 1300-1700 instead…

i got in undeclared
i heard that you have a slightly better chance with
undeclared major than with science major

remember dasherwinator these tests don’t really mean anything
i have weakness in test taking but have strengths in other areas
those admission ppl don’t just look at sat scores

yeah that’s true

CookieKahn
GPA doesn’t really prove much either. Getting a good GPA is all about doing those crappy busywork worksheets that have almost no academic learning value. Just doing the same crap over and over again.

In all honesty, the SAT does prove a little bit. A 1670 is honestly a pretty poor score and for you to call others idiots for scoring better, shows you are at least a little perturbed. The Math tests basic algebra/geometry and most of it is logical reasoning, but not so much for math. I know people who are really good at calculus and beyond but struggle for that 700. The writing is just bullcrap, I agree, but still fairly simple to do well on. People who read a lot or are good at reading fast/picking stuff up in text easily do well on the CR.
