OOS merit scholarship similar to U of Arizona

my son was really interested in Miami. Just for reference from our experience, this past year year he had a 3.97; a 34 ACT and his final scholarship (not needs-based or no honors or anything requiring extra essays) brought tuition down to $9K per year. There’s a whole thread on Miami of Ohio if interested. He was looking strongly at AZ too.

Utah have auto merit for stats based on UW GPA and ACT scores. They just don’t publish the table, but you can work out roughly what is needed based on past year results (typically 4.0 and 33-34 for full OOS tuition). Many of the lower level scholarships are designed to offset part or all of the first year OOS premium on the assumption you’ll be paying instate rates in subsequent years. They also offer 30 full rides per year (Eccles scholarships) based on a holistic evaluation, additional essay and interview process. Honors requires about a 30 ACT from what I can tell.

Regarding U of Utah my D20 OOS had a 3.95/4.3 and a 34 ACT and only received a 1 year OOS tuition scholarship. It seems the 4.0 unweighted is needed for a 4 year full tuition scholarship but I could be wrong.

Also consider Temple U…my daughter received a 4 year OOS full tuition scholarship plus $4k for study abroad and admitted to the Honors college.

Yes I believe it is. Maybe 36 ACT would get it with slightly less.
