Opinions Needed Re Apartment Building and Parking Spaces

It’s definitely not Cambridge or the price they’re thinking about charging for parking would be much higher!

OP is from NY, so I suspect the Ivy is Columbia. We’re also from NY and I have family in Manhattan. Parking would be a deal breaker for me. Parking at the apartment site that was leased separately would be a concern because once I had a car I’d have to pay whatever the annual increases were or pay for a garage until I could unload the vehicle. Parking that costs more than the going rate would also be a deal breaker. I don’t mind fair market value, but if were charged more by my landlord I’d consider that price gouging. I’d take the apartment that includes parking even if it is in a less convenient area.

I have no idea about building development. But wouldn’t a big project like that conduct studies on who will be renting and how many will have a car among the target group?

I know folks who would be THRILLED to pay $150 a month for off street parking in NYC…if they owned cars.
