<p>I would say that New Paltz is the way to go. It was named “hottest small state school in America” by Newsweek. It’s a real up and comer in the SUNY system. My son just transferred here and is enjoying it.
The business school has a good reputation. Check it out.

If you want a school that has a friendly, creative, down to earth student body and a fun, artsy college town with everything in walking distance to each other in a close knit community than this is the place. It’s also got Poughkeepsie nearby and a 1 1/2 hour bus ride to NYC.
