A question about the placement exam. Do transfer students also have to take it? I passed Calculus 1 at my CC with a C (and Assist says my Calc class is the equivalent of both 16A and 21A), so I don’t have to take the math placement exam in order to take 21B, do I?

Also, what is 21B like? The course description says it covers “definition of definite integral, fundamental theorem of calculus, techniques of integration. Application to area, volume, arc length, average of a function, improper integral, surface of revolution”, but the funny thing is, I learned all that in my Calculus 1 class. Calculus II at my CC covers what UC Davis covers in 21C. I wouldn’t mind refreshing myself on some of those concepts (especially surface of revolution), but would it be harder?
