Orientation Question

While da6onet is correct about exemptions existing for math placement exam, that ONLY applies to TRANSFER STUDENTS!

“All incoming first-year students are required to take the MPE, regardless of SAT or Advanced Placement scores that they have earned. All entering first-year students are encouraged to study accordingly to ensure the best possible placement; first-year College of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences and Clark School of Engineering majors should pay particular attention to the MPE since the two colleges base math course registration solely on MPE scoring and not SAT.”

So, even if you get an A in Calc2 at your highschool, and earn a 5 on on the CalcBC exam, you still have to take the math placement exam if you are an incoming freshman. Further, you should do so BEFORE orientation.
