Other admin things parents can do with their kids is figure out medical privacy & grade & financial privacy issues with their students. There will be forms at orientation (I’ve been told) where the student can sign to authorize parents to share med info & billing, as well as grades as well as all financial info (since we’re paying). It’s a good idea to reach agreement about these issues & get the right forms signed. It’s also useful to share password info so the parents can access the on-line billing info & be sure things are paid on time so kids can focus on the schoolwork & socializing. <grin> These are the aspects I plan to handle, freeing son to be a student.</grin>

Yes, my “D” is going to the 2nd one… :)

June 27 and 28

june 27-28th

lol We really should have a CC table set up for the 27-28…

ok…well, now i’m considering taking my dad…i figure most other people will be bringing their parents, so i wont be missing out too greatly on the social opportunities.

but on the current session i have set, i’m not sure if my dad can go…so if i needed to change my RSVP, is there a charge to change the session?

aww you can do it without your dad! i am, we’ll be fine. =)

but if you need to change, like i changed dates from the 1st to the 3rd, there was no additional charge. but id do it before spots get really filled up.

Well, it’s nice to hear that many parents want to come; I was starting to worry that my own would be lonely at the first session…

Out of curiosity, are those of you attending the first session still in school at that time? I have a feeling that my school graduation is really early compared to most others; Commencement is on the 3rd for us.

weeeeelll…i already changed it haha. and i figured, if i’m going to the closest thing i’ve had to a dream school, at least one of them should have a good look around and get a feel for it. neither of them has even really been to downtown LA much less USC, so it’d be a good opportunity for my dad to see what it’s like. and my date’s still June 20-21.

i had mine set at june 8/9, while i’ll still be in school, but i have a really important thing on the 9th so i had to change it to the 20/21st. my dad works around there and went there so hes really familiar with it, but now i hope im not the only parentless one…

and you pay automatically for an overnight stay, right? =)

for students, overnight’s included. parents, you add between $20 (for a res hall double) to $80 (i think for a Radisson single) to the $125 for adding a parent.

I’ll also still be in school, but all the other days were inconvenient. I don’t mind missing school :-d!

If both of your parents are going, should they both sign up for a double res hall each? Will the event coordinators put my parents together in the same room or are the floors for parent rooms going to be single-sex?

Hey everyone, I’m going to the June 8th/9th orientation - I hope to see a lot of you there!

my parents just booked a room on travelocity at the radisson.

my dad and i are staying there

wow I’m going JULY 6-7, it seems like NO ONE is going to that session at all. I’m going to be alone
not fun…

June 13-14. Not many people going to that one :(

^ I am. June 13-14 <– I think I already said that b4, but I’ll just reiterate that…

^ me tooooooo

argh 10 characters
