@Indianjatt: Yes, orientation is a three-day program. For the placement tests, you will take them during orientation and they will tell you when and where to go to take them. I believe there are only 3 tests: math, chemistry, and foreign language. Which one you take depends on whether you’ve taken certain classes in high school and what type of classes you want to take your freshman year.

Here is a detailed page describing placement tests: [UC Davis Orientation - Freshmen Placement Tests](http://orientation.ucdavis.edu/freshmen/placementtests.asp)

I highly recommend prospective UC Davis students to attend orientation as it will help you with choosing your classes, what requirements you will need to graduate, and you will also get familiar with the campus and how it works.
