As an Airbnb host, I have never had someone request bringing a pet, nor would I allow them to.
Not an Airbnb host, but rent to college students.
The listed dog was a ‘Aussie/Golden Retriever mix weighing 45 lbs’.
The actual animal was a Russian wolfhound weighing at least 120.
Yup, renters will try just about anything.
Thanks for all your responses. As a first time airbnb renter, I’ve learned a valuable lesson. Primarily I’ve learned that I would only rent a “non-shareable” unit in the future. I’m not even sure I’d want the owner present. Secondly, I’ve learned that pit bulls can be well trained.
We’ve rented several times through Air BnB and VBRO (not shared) that allowed dogs and they were all very clean. We have a 100 .lb 5 year old black lab that is crate trained and we always travel with his “box.” We have repeat reservations for new years for the family (including the dog) at the same place we stayed last year. They even gave us a return renter discount this year and waived the pet fee since there was no issue last time.
