<p>I think you are looking at the part-time enrolled students. UCSC enrolled 1490 full-time freshman males and 2 part-time. Also regarding 96% of applicants were in the top 10% of their class. In California, if you are in the top 9% of your HS class or in the top 9% in your state (ELC eligibility), you will be guaranteed a spot in the UC system. Both my sons, were not in the top 10% of their class but based on their SAT/ACT and GPA, they were in the top 9% for the state. Also the average GPA reported on the common data set is unweighted on a 4.0 scale. OOS students usually have a higher threshold for the GPA and SAT scores, unless you ask for no financial aid (full pay), then you have a better chance for acceptance with lower stats.</p>
