"Outrageous Injustice"

Is this thread going to deteriorate into name-calling, finger-pointing and playing the race card? Behave people. Or should I get my ring side seat and a bowl of popcorn again?

Actually, now that I think about it, datdude. What does race have to do this this case? Was the jury acting based on race? Was the prosecutor acting based on race? How about the Attorney General? Are you telling me that if Wilson had been white, none of this would have happened? If so, how do you reach that conclusion? If the 15 year old girl had been black, would none of this have happened? If so, how do you know that? Since you are the race expert, please enlighten me.

Well said.

Please note, it was not me who started the name calling of other posters.

No, razorsharp- the namecalling you engaged in got deleted. No one is innocent in this volly, as I see it. Sorry.

You are right. I name called the 15 year old WHITE girl. I probably should have said she was promiscuous instead of the other word. Sorry if I offended you jym626. But it was not name calling of another poster which is a violation of the terms of this board. datdude can’t say the same.

Stop already, razorsharp. Your post wouldnt have been deleted if it wasn’t inappropriate. And FYI, I don’t believe any of the individuals involved in the incident were caucasian. But oh, I forgot, you said this wasn’t about race.

I knew that Wilson is black because I saw his picture. Actually, I don’t know the race of the 15 year old girl, but I assumed it must have white been because of datdude’s objection. I guess she is not white after all.

I was trying to be consistent with your comments. I thought you were right. I am not sure what you want me to stop.

Stop the “who me?? what did I say??” innocent stuff. The crack you made about the 15 yr old and her current status (if that is even substantiated) is as distasteful as this volley. Looking for a sparring partner? Look elsewhere. Good luck with that.

I apologize to you again jym626.

razorsharp,
C’mon now, I know you’re just kidding with the what’s my full name and address question. Trust me, you don’t want a problem with me.

jym626 - I appreciate your intervention. Honestly, I try, but at times these threads are simply about hidden racial tension and covert hatred and in my most understanding moment I’d be able to see razorsharp for what he is. I don’t usually post on this site anymore because of such racially tinged posts, but at times it gets to be pretty annoying to read such nonsense.

And my thread about does bad neighborhood mean black neighborhood was for a very specific reason: because people were mindlessly classifying schools like Columbia, Penn, Harvard and Yale as being in bad neighborhoods while considering the other Ivies (Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth and Princeton) to be in good neighborhoods. Look at the racial makeup in the cities surrounding the 8 schools I named, then ask me if my thread was valid. Can’t blame me cause I call it like I see it.

Thanks for the compliment, dadude, but in all fairness, I have to agree that you were the one who played the race card here. That is equally distasteful to me. Lots of people throwing around stuff as if it were fact when it is just conjecture and efforts to fuel a fire. Blech. No thanks. This isnt a race issue here. Let that one go. I am proud of what my atty friends did in this case, but in all honesty, a lot of it was about underlying issues in GA with stuff added to legislation that tried to get all the sex offenders one-way tickets out of GA. Lots of pawns in this game. You guys are just adding to the rumor mill, imo. Sorry. Its just how I see it.

And razor, you haven’t mentioned race once in the post, which supports my earlier comment about covert hatred. I remember very well your posts on the thread about Dr. Watson, and I guess I’m out of line to gather that your views about blacks are unsavory at best.

I still appreciate your intervention jym626, clearly you speak with a rationale which is rarely seen on this website.

But I stick by what I said. I don’t want to fuel any fire, the fire is what got me to respond with a post in the first place. In America, any time a black person speaks out, they will always be accused of playing the race card…America at its best. Why do you think so many people hate to the core Jesse, Al, Farrakhan…Why is it so unacceptable that a black person speak out on injustice? Clearly, in the case of Genarlow, more people than just me feel the same way. People with a much higher profile all around the country. I believe I’m correct to say the original sentence is considered a universal failure by the legal system to most people knowledgable about the case, even those with just a passing knowledge. The problem is, it is too commonplace for blacks to get shafted in the legal system. It’s a matter of fact.

Sigh---- so if one mentions race they are a racist, and if they dont mention it they are a covert racist?? Puleeze. If you have read razorsharps posts, he likes to instigate–sometimes regardless of the issue. Looks like sport, sometimes. I do believe he is a non-partisan instigator.

So because I don’t mention race at all, I must be talking about race and hatred! Since when can you read the minds of others? Maybe I didn’t mention race because I wasn’t thinking about race. Maybe you mentioned race because that is all you think about. BTW, you have no idea what my race is.

Thanks again for the kind words, datdude, but on some points we will just agree to disagree. Al and Jesse are, all too often, just seeming to want a piece of the spotlight. Farrakhan, however, is scary.

Guys— one more warning-- if you start to bring up issues from another thread here, or if you persist in battling about race, this thread is surely about to become toast. Let it go. Talk about the issue if you want to, not about other threads or racist garbage.

Will do jym626, just wanted a say is all.

You are correct. I sometimes take positions that are opposite to my personal view if I think a logical argument can be made for the opposing view. I find the logic of arguments and the debate that follows to be interesting. That’s why I enjoy this forum. If everyone agreed, I am not sure I would like the forum as much.

I must say I didn’t realize anyone was paying attention. I just wish people would not take what I say so personally. I really don’t mean it except when I am attacked like datdude has done.

I went back to my response about another post and deleted the last paragraph.
