Oxford College....hmmmmm

Oxford College is an undergraduate division of Emory University. It offers a two year program and I suppose a junior degree, After graduating from Oxford, students may automatically go to Emory College (the four year college) and get their BA. They can also apply to B-school or the nursing school if they want to. Moreover, the difference is in the way a student wants to spent his or her first two years. Oxford offers a more traditional education, towards the liberal arts I would say, as opossed to Emory College which is more institutional. Most importantly, Oxford is located in Oxford, GA, outside of Atlanta (about 30 minutes) in the birthplace of Emory University. It’s surrounded by old buildings which have been there since the civil war and is a lot more traditional than the main campus.

Admission to Oxford is less demanding than Emory’s but smaller is also the number of applicants (Those two go together). I have heard that work load there is a little bigger than that of Emory’s but that, if true, may be part of the traditional Emory experience that Oxford want’s to offer.
