Way to go cgpm59!!! That is such a great feeling! :)

My son is going backwards for some reason. Safety first, submitted rolling admissions (okay that made sense). Now he’s working on his match app/essay. He’s saving his first choice which is the only one on the common app and requires the hardest essays (in my opinion). He’ll figure it out. I can honestly say I will feel better when the paperwork is all in…from the school and us.

Good Day to all. (I was going to say Good Morning, but it’s already after noon here ;)

Congrats to all who have submitted one, two or all apps. How great that must feel.

D made no progress on her apps/essays over this past weekend. Homecoming- 2 late nights plus a family wedding Sat afternoon. She then watched a couple of football games to unwind. I allowed her to “take a mental break” b/c I know that she really needed it. Hoping she will get back on the apps/essays this week & this weekend.

blueiguana, I think your son is taking it in the right order. By using the safety and match apps as ‘warm-ups’ he will have more essay writing experience under his belt when tackling the reach.

My D took the ACT in June and had a composite score of 32. She logged on last night to send her scores and her score has been changed to a 33. What’s that about? Not that she is complaining…but you know…weird…right?

Lurking here for quite some time. S2 accepted ED at Wake Forest today!! Very very happy. He worked hard all summer on 7 apps, and like your kids, has hectic fall schedule. Football 4 hours a day, Head of a club, Tons of community service etc. Best of luck to all parents out there. This is a very nerve racking time, but as I have found out going thru this experience twice - It all works out as it should.

Aniger, They have rolling Early Decision. He sent app in end of August and was the first in his HS to request school forms to be sent in. I am lucky as he is very on top of things.

tennismom, congrats! I am guessing your son is an athlete?

D1 had a dream over the weekend that her ED school told her they’d received her transcript and ACT scores and they were admitting her just on the basis of that–she didn’t need to fill out that silly Common App or write any essays or anything else. I am waiting for the corresponding dream where the (need-based only) ED school calls and tells us that they’ll comp us the four years. :)

I had a dream over the weekend that Paul McCartney tracked us down and thought that maybe D might be his child and so he gave us a check for $500,000. I remember thinking in the dream that yay! college was paid for!

I think we all are having crazy dreams and lack of sleep due to College admissions or hormones - not sure which. Son is an athlete - but not a recruited one.

Congratulations tennismom! How wonderful for your son. It must be great to be done so early. I’ve never heard of rolling ED before. It’s amazing what you learn on CC!

Missypie- that is exactly what happens in our house and my d sometimes forgets what time it is and starts singing at the top of her lungs at 1 am! Haha!

Congrats Tennismom…that is great news.
One and done as we say in this house…
Weknow someone whose student graduated from WF. LOVED it–absolutely loved it…
Your student used his time wisely and will be happier all sr yr for it!

We are hoping our kiddo will be one and done…
and with the possibility that the One doesn’t make it done, kiddo has supplements to do…etc…
kinda dragging the feet about it…
We shall see…we will know more before Nov 1 and I have reminded kiddo we dont want to be scrambling Oct 30th

My brilliant son met with his GC today (please insert sarcasm here). He is so laid back. He said the meeting was short and sweet because he’s already asked for recommendations, etc. They laughed because he had all his papers back to the GC, while his father and I are just finishing our four pages of essay questions. Pardon me for wanting to actually write it correctly son. Next time you’ll get a McAnswer…my kid is nice…period. Truth be told, he gave them to us two weeks ago, however anyone that works with a fiscal calendar ending on 9/30 knows that it’s impossible to get anything done during that time period.
New ranks were listed on his transcript…he got bumped from the 5th% to the 7th%. He wasn’t thrilled, but his GPA actually went up. Other students simply went up a bit more. He’s above 10% which is usually a good marker so I’m not too concerned.
