Some kind of spring themed hair thing, socks or flip flops?
Great ideas!
I’ll be sappy too. I love the way you said it @NorthernMom61.
@OHMomof2, if she’s into makeup or pedi/mani stuff, maybe a lipstick or fingernail polish? Those would be light to ship and include.
Peeps! Don’t weigh much. (Pinterest has lots of care package ideas, to adapt.)
We usually ship in those prepaid Priority Mail flat rate boxes… the weight doesn’t matter much. I often send granola bars, trex mix (the little ones from Trader Joes), popcorn. I was going to mention peeps, but dyiu beat me to it. Those must weigh almost nothing.
Thank you all. She hates peeps
@suzy100 that’s a good idea, she likes nail polish…
@MamaBear16 I wish I could but the basket won’t fit…but good snack ideas!
@OHMomof2, my daughter goes crazy for those specialty pens and papers that we get at Muji or Kinokuniya. If you have a Paper Source near you, they have lots of little fun things and might have those sorts of pens as well. The checkout area in ULTA always has cute trial size items.
If someone sent me a Lindt chocolate bunny, my holiday would be perfect.
I’ll tell you, we load up on extremely well-priced Easter chocolates at Aldi. They import German chocolates…all kinds of bunnies, eggs, etc. If you’re strategic about what you buy at Aldi, you can really score, especially on holiday candy.
^^That German chocolate at Aldi is indeed excellent!
We live in Asia and my daughter always wants Ramen. So in addition to some Easter candy she got her last shipment of Ramen for the year, that an a bunch of green tea flavored items that her roommates are always begging her for. I told her the other day that she will have to host a Ramen party at the end of the term with any surplus–so that she doesn’t have to pack it out.
How about some thyme?
^LOL Hang in there @albert69!
I’m mailing an Easter package to my D today. I initially was going to use an old soft Hello Kitty basket, but I couldn’t find it. So I bought a colorful large bubble envelope and am filling it with pink Easter basket grass and an assortment of small candy (she’s not a chocolate lover; cannot figure out how we are related!) and small fun things mainly from the Target dollar spot, like these cute butterfly erasers and socks with spring flowers on them. I also found an Easter card with a cat (wearing bunny ears) that looks just like ours.
Gum, lipbalm?
I think if you send something less than 150 miles away, you can use regional priority. I use the medium box B top loading and stuff it full (20 lb limit) and it costs less than $7 and D gets it in a day or so.
Thanks for the ideas everyone! Not less than 150 miles More like 700.
@Barbalot Did you send those cupcakes in a jar? I need to send something for my D’s birthday, but I’d love to hear if they are good or not before I decide what to send.
I’d be interested in the cupcakes in a jar outcome too, mostly because they look delicious!
Well, I’ve been looking online for reviews and found the ones on Yelp… they aren’t very positive. I think I’ll have to stick with insomnia cookies this time. I’d love to send cupcakes or a cake, though. Not really wanting to try to ship it 3,000 miles though.
My D basically lives off Ramen when she’s too busy/lazy to go to meals @NorthernMom61 Do you ship stuff to her from Asia or buy online in US and have delivered to her? I have to do the latter (usually Amazon). Recently sent her a coffee thermos with a joke about how engineers can’t spell (my D’s spelling is atrocious thanks to having autocorrect available her entire life).
