optimizerdad----you are hilarious!!!

Well, it seems like the most active parents are some kind o’ white. Soccer moms and dads, I guess.

hillbilly-all the way

So one more for Scots/Irish

Our families both came over on the Mayflower and then apparently mixed and married with all kinds of people! We’re English, Irish, German, Scottish, and perhaps American Indian. Our favorite food is Mexican and Italian. At my daughters campus, which has a pretty high international population, she has been asked many times what country she is from.

my H is 1/2 norwegian- 1/4 swedish- 1/4 Italian
the kids have his coloring- get tan- blondish hair- dark eyelashes-
I know it isn’t healthy- but I still get jealous of people who tan.
my favorite food right now is Indian and Vietnamese- but my H was raised on scandinavian food- white-white bread- white potatoes- overcooked meat- he is really boring to cook for ;)

Black. Per DNA testing: 2/3 of ancestors originate from Africa; 1/3 from Europe.

I am 7/8 WASP (Mayflower; England, Scotland, Wales) and 1/8 German Jewish (we think.)

H & I are both Chinese…1st generation born here. Although he comes from Mississippi…and me from CA! ;)

1/2 Italian (with Saudi mixed in), 1/8 Russian, 1/8 Russian Jew, 1/8 Polish, 1/8 Solvak - a 3rd generation puree of former peasants.

So how many Scots(Scotch) Irish do we actually have here? I’m interested…doing some research on the migration pattern of the Scots Irish. Please share if you know anything about your SI ancestors!

Mine arrived in Philly pre-Revolutionary War and immediately made their way to Staunton, Virginia and then to Wautaga, TN. Illegally of course…since the Brits had a treaty with the Cherokees not to cross into TN. They were stubborn overmountain men (aka hillbillies) who were not at all fond of the English…and who were extremely delighted to join in the fun at Kings’ Mountain.

The responses have been great. I now have a mental image
