<p>I agree with SEmom. Plus: IMHO - if you live close enough for an 18 year old to drive home, then you live close enough to easily pick him up once or twice a month for less than what monthly parking in Oakland costs. Keep in mind that if your son has a car, when almost everybody else does not, he will constantly be bugged to lend his car, give somebody a ride, or pick someone up. Definitely not worth that risk/pressure in my opinion.</p>
