I agree with @luckie1367. The key is to read the TAG agreement carefully, both on the UC site and the matrix. It’s the ones that switch up the rules that are the killer. Also, for my money do whatever it says in the rules, even if a uc counselor tells you otherwise: case in point, UC Davis’ vague mention on website that the “full term last year” requirement can be modified at their discretion. A student was told by a UC TAG advisor that it was fine to go part-time, he applied and was denied.
BYW, most TAGs cannot be appealed. Decision is final.
