<p>^ You can take the SAT any time in your life - whether you are 2 years old or 76 years old. I don’t know who told you that you can only take it in junior year, but that is an outright fallacy. It isn’t recommended for sophomores to take the SAT, but they certainly are not barred completely doing so.</p>
<p>I’m taking the SAT because I have a stressful junior year schedule with 6 APs and 1 AP self-study in addition to an international piano certification exam and I simply don’t have time to deal with the SAT on top of all those things. I actually wish I would have taken it in freshman year right after I took Geometry and had a rigorous English curriculum in the 7th/8th grade - which also taught grammar in depth - compared to the weak English curriculum in my current school.</p>
