I had the same experience last week when I called Financial Services last week to enquire about payment of fees for my daughter. The people who answered my first two calls were clue less but during the third call I was suggested to remit about 50% of the expected tuition/other fees (including housing, meal plan, health insurance) as this would cover the cost of the first term.

They suggested to pay a round figure now as it may take them about 2-3 weeks to confirm international wire transfer payments. The deadline for USC to receive funds is Aug 20 so we are planning to arrange our remittance this week.

I was told USC can accept payments via credit card if the card is issued in USA. So this will not really be an option for most international students.

You can see the estimated cost at
[USC Financial Aid - Applying & Receiving Financial Aid - Undergraduate - Costs](http://www.usc.edu/admission/fa/applying_receiving/undergraduates1/costs.html)
This site also has a link that gives the wire transfer details but it appears that the site may be down now. From what I remember the transfer has to be arranged to USC`s account with Bank of America. Hope this helps!
