Penn 2014 RD Thread

chrisw, that’s awesome. gives me some hope, got into LSP for NYU instead of CAS.

I don’t really get it… I got into NYU (stern or bpe, i’m not sure yet) and Cornell early… but I didn’t get into UCLA… I have no idea what to expect from Wharton…

I just got waitlisetd at UVA -.-

chrisw: Penn must love you then. Oh dear, this crapshoot is unnerving. I did get into SHC but was rejected at MIT (expected), but my top choice is Penn. Ah I never want to log into that portal. :P

Stupefy: Sorry to hear that. I also thought you would’ve gotten into Yale SCEA all those months ago!

so did a lot of people :frowning: I’m starting to get paranoid theres some major glitch in my application

Ya…admissions really is a crapshot. I never really believed that until I experienced the process firsthand. As of now here all my college decisions (still waiting on Harvard, Pton, and Wharton…along with others though):

Accepted:
Dartmouth (LL), Vandy (Full Ride), Emory (15k), UVA (Ehols)

Waitlisted/Deferred:
Yale (Deferred), WashU(WL…tho I hear they have tufts syndrome)

Rejected:
Stanford (Gotta love good ol Stanford = D)

I got accepted to Cornell, NYU (LSP), USC, Northwestern, Boston Uni., Syracuse, DePauw, ASU (of course)

Denied at Stanford and UCLA

chrisw, that’s reassuring to hear, thanks for telling me that
i really hope i get in, penn is my number one choice!
but im sure a lot of the CC’ers on the penn threads feel the same way about penn <3

No, for UVA, you are obviously overqualified and the admissions committee most likely felt that the university had relatively no chance of enrolling you.

Ya stupefy…you know as well as I do that mifune is right. You had what a 2370 on the SAT…clearly there was no deficiency academically on your part. I have absolutely no doubt you will end up at a top school (by top I mean somewhere in the top 5).

2390, actually. :)

Indeed, one must be mindful of the potential outcomes of applying to “safety” or “match” schools if they do play the yield game. In that sense, they technically cannot be considered as such.

I don’t know if I’ll let myself believe that. I guess I’ll just wait and see

thanks for the optimism guys :)

Well, in less than five days you will.

^^^
Haha…true that!

add carnegie mellon to my list of rejection. =(

Rejected from Uva, Chicago, Gwu, and now Mellon.

I’m hoping on a penn miracle

Just looked at my penn preview application on common app and noticed that only a paragraph of my essay showed up on the download.

I hate my life so much right now.

i know how you feel glam. i was wl’ed at chicago though

Got into CMU today, so that definitely boosts my morale after Stanford. Remember fellas, the admission game is random and your outcome anywhere else will NOT affect your outcome at Penn. Good luck everybody!
