Penn 2014 RD Thread

im heading to drexel, right in front of penn. i’m gonna finish out a year then transfer.

S accepted here in W PA.

Accepted!!
… I kinda feel awkward posting this because no one else has said they’ve been accepted…

Accepted for Engineering, but probably going to Princeton!

ACCEPTED!!! I’ve pinched my arm five times or so…am I hallucinating? Is this a dream…but I read the letter three times…

dontstopbelievin: lol, funny you say that, I am actually a freshman at Drexel right now, and sent my transfer application to Penn a few weeks ago… My sister’s friend, a former Drexel student, successfully transferred into Wharton as a Penn student (2005) and another CC member also transferred into Penn (2006) as an engineering major from Drexel. It seems like it might be slightly advantageous to be a student of a neighboring university? I don’t know, but, for both of our sakes, I hope so.

@joe : wow, good luck! and thanks for that inch of hope. did you have any affiliations with penn while you were studying at drexel? and if you dont mind, could you give me some details on how the transfer thing works? you can PM me if you’d like. :)

No, not really… lol… Yeah, there are not too many opportunities to get involved in Penn related academics/extracurriculars as a Drexel student. The only option would likely be to get work study position on their campus, I would think. As a transfer, the deadline for submission of applications is March 15th, and you receive notification of decisions by sometime in the middle of May. I am pretty sure the supplementary application and common application for transfers were very similar to high school applicants’. The only difference is likely that the common app. essay asks for reasons for transferring and objectives you hope to accomplish. And yeah, you also do the standard send in high school transcript, sat scores, college transcript, two professor letter of recommendations, and a college report (confirming you are in good standing).

thanks  10char.

Got into Wharton! The positive thinking worked! :D

After i had lost all of my hope i got into upenn!! I had been rejected by the other ivies, acceptd at BC and NYU and waitlisted in georgetown

rejected. i’ve been crying for two hours and have never felt worse in my life.

@hopeful, i know exactly how you feel, i couldn’t stop crying on and off since 5:20 ish when i checked my decision. this is just a speed bump in your journey, so don’t be so hard on yourself. i still love penn and aspire to be a student at penn so i’m going to try my hardest during my first year of college so i can transfer to Penn. good luck with wherever you end up :)

Upenn m&t!!!

@dontstop, that’s what I was thinking too. I can’t decide which school to go to which I would really like and still give me a competitive chance at transfering. oh well. life moves on :'(

waitlisted…
■■■ Wharton was my top choice. </3
UChicago 2014

rejected, rejected, rejected!!!
And I got over it in about 5 minutes!!

I WILL NOT BE GOING TO PENN NEXT YEAR----BUT THE WORLD HASN’T ENDED!!!

I would be in a state of utter depression if I didn’t get into Chicago EA. hehehe thank you Chicago!

anybody else find it weird how the penn thread isn’t blowing up with decisions and stats?

I agree! Right when I got accepted, I was freaking out and trying to check CC! It was down, but even when I log on today, it seems like not that many people are THAT excited haha!
