<p>I’m SEAS. I think there’s a significant number of posters who just didn’t bother adding to the list, and it could be self-selection. From previous numbers, there always have been a significant number of SEAS applicants, but they never come to CC for some reason.</p>
<p>To answer the question above: Yes, Penn does send likely letters to the very best athletes and I think, to some academic top candidates.</p>

<p>You are incorrect. When you apply to a program like M&T, you first opt to apply to one of the other schools. Then, you opt ED or RD for that school. You can, and many do, RD SEAS or Wharton.</p>

<p>@ ln1281, why didn’t you end up applying to the bio-dental program? well, i opted out of the “single-degree ED”, which means that if I’m not accepted to the bio-dental program, then I do not want to be considered ED to Penn. not that I don’t like Penn enough to just go for undergrad, but I’d rather go to a dental program. however, I heard that penn hasnt accepted anyone to the Bio-Dental program in the last two years. have you heard anything about it?</p>

<p>Hi Iambeast…I decided not to apply to the bio-dental program because after getting input from several dentists I know, including the one that I’ve worked for the last 3 years they all advised against it. Basically the consensus was that you will be working the rest of your life as a dentist… try to have the normal undergrad experience and then see where you want to apply to Dental school. I started focusing originally on all schools that offered a combined program because I wanted to shave a year off because ultimately I want to be an orthodontist and it’s a long road as you know. After discussing it with the many dentists that I have great respect for they suggested that I focus more on a school that can provide a great foundation to what I want to do in life but also allow me to have the typical college experience. I looked at Penn orginally for the bio-dent program but ended up loving the school for so many other reasons that I decided that I want to be part of the Penn community and then see where that leads me. Are you looking at other combined programs as well? I think it can really be a great opportunity. Who knows…maybe I’ll end up seeing you in dental school in a few years! Best of luck!</p>
