Actually if you looked over last year’s decision thread, many of the rejected (not deferred) had high 700’s on their SATs while most of the accepted didn’t even break 700 on the majority of their SAT scores. Hmmmmm

They literall live IN her backyard…they dig holes

Dionysus, I hate you right now.

ssshhhh
the INS are everywhere

dionysus, go away… ur making me feel bad

Actually I should clear that up. What I posted was for WHARTON only :)

are you KIDDING!?!!? Dionysus, jump off a bridge!!!

It’s like you’re advocating having <700 scores … ?

That’s not very nice… and no I’m not… I was in contact with some of them before they applied actually. These names come to mind quickly because they posted so much (non-urms, all ED):

stambliark14 (1600 SAT, bunch of other ECcrap) rejected
holyspirit (1580 SAT, legacy) rejected
kliuless (1600 SAT) rejected

footballer (1320 SAT) accepted
lucky98 (1380 SAT) accepted
yukos (1330 SAT) accepted
zhang (1430 SAT) accepted
rob d (1430 SAT) accepted

That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen…now I feel like I’m going to get rejected because I have a good SAT score

don’t be foolish guys, SATs are nothing. seriously, I can’t believe you would feel like getting rejected because of a good SAT score. Don’t make me knock some sence into your head!

it seems like SATs would hold some weight though…I mean students with near-perfect SATs getting rejected and students in the 1300s all getting accepted? That’s pretty strange…

also, those aren’t the exceptions… the mid range (~1500) had their decisions split between accept and defer/reject

As WhartonAdvisor has stated times without number: “Penn engages in a holistic process while evaluating each applicant’s application.” In other words, in my opinion, “Your SAT scores weighs as much as every other aspect of your application.”

People, just chill… There’s no way a 2300 would be more detrimental than a 2100.

I wouldn’t go as far to say that your SAT score is equal in weight to all other factors, but definitely having a score in the high 2300s won’t get you in alone.

Dionysus said kids with scores around 1500 were split (~50/50?) between accept and defer/reject – Probably because the only ones accepted were also the ones who had grades that matched (top 5% or better I would assume) and good leadership ECs or awards.

omg, there is hope for me yet :)

withonevoice and pyar, WHERE THE HECK are you on the “let’s hold hands” thread???

I keep worrying that I’m not good enough…this all makes me so anxious

im there now, i havent been on CC for a couple hours lol

Yeah - I don’t think there’s any way to get it past 2.
