you have to realize LPS is for people that took time off from school, went in the military, or either worked, started a family, etc.
Their situations and living expenses are generally more than a typical college student.
A typical 18 year old can survive on ramen and little to no money.
People with families and real bills that go to LPS need more income to support a standard of living
