Penn State 2+2 program or FAU?

Good luck with these - and you have URI too.

Honestly, nothing wrong with FAU.

A Bama will have more name recognition but a bit far out of your realm distance wise I know. Auburn too but may be too late for Auburn.

So if you decide FAU, it’s still great.

Best of luck.

At this point DUS is probably “full”. You can use the model presented in the “PSU EA admissions DISCUSSION” thread if you want them to reconsider him for energy finance+summer OR for Altoona/Harrisburg but it sounds like you’re done with PSU.
So hopefully he’ll get into a more residential school than FAU.
Susquehanna and John Carroll are easier admits with a strong business school and are probably still taking applications, with the FAFSA delay pushing the decision date from May1 to June1. Fairfield in CT, St Joes in Philly? not sure they’re still accepting apps but worth reaching out.
In Florida, not sure they’re still accepting apps but good, residential schools include Eckerd, Rollins, probably both at the same level as Susquehanna/John Carroll; easier admits would include UTampa, Flagler or Barry but these are not as residential.
Fingers crossed for WVU and USF (main campus only - it’s become more residential, but the brqnch campuses are just like the small psu branches. )
(Residential would matter since he’d be living on campus, not commuting - a residential school will provide more support and entertainment on campus, it won’tempty out on weekends and at night).

Thanks for the update. I’m sorry to hear about PSU’s decision, but as @MYOS1634 said, it could just be that the program is already full.

Has he sent in any letters of continued interest to these? Or if he has had any good news (improved grades, awards, etc) given an update to his admissions officer? That could help move him up higher on the waitlist. Also, were these waitlists, or deferrals?

But he does have FAU, and according to College Board’s site, 61% of freshmen live on-campus. So of the roughly 4300 incoming freshmen, more than 2600 of them were living in the dorms. So that’s more potential friends than are present at many smaller colleges, if he does indeed prefer a larger campus. Of course, that doesn’t provide much illumination on how many stay during the weekends. I’m sorry if I missed it, but has he visited FAU?

Keeping my fingers crossed for URI, WVU, USF, and UCF.
