Penn State Altoona

Ok. sorry. I know of a few that did get in the summer after being accepted at a branch. Then also a few that didn’t even get summer when they chose summer or branch as an option.

Why did you not supply rank and GPA?

My conclusions why:

There are different requirements to get into UP than at branch campuses. That is normal and understood.
When you apply and your stats are borderline, and you are not necessarily the best candidate at the time for UP, they seem to throw those people into branch campuses without completely rejecting them from PSU.

Be happy, this is still pretty great…it may not feel like it but, it is better then not being given a chance at all!

Then, there are those that are so close that they could get into UP, but did not choose summer but chose a branch campus. Those ended up in a branch. If they had chosen summer session, they most likely would have gotten in for summer. Those that went back and asked that their application be reconsidered for summer got in if they were that close.

Then, there are those that absolutely need a branch campus to start to prove to PSU that they will be able to handle Main once they decide to transfer in junior year.
