My son was accepted last night to Smeal - Finance major.

GPA 3.9 UW, 4.3 W
5 APs max allowable as HS only starts APs Junior year (all 5 score), 5 AP this year

Schreyer will depend on his essays. Essays are read by at least two people, and sometimes more if needed. They will also do a deep dive on rigor and classes taken. So while he certainly seems qualified … it is the essay that determines his chances.
Has he scheduled an interview? That can help move the needle sometimes.

Does the regional admission officer/college rep have a say in the application review for University Park?
We were wondering the same thing.
Happy to report that my son got into the Materials Science and Engineering program for Fall 2026. We are PA residents. He got noticed 2 days back.

I am pretty sure they are released daily or at least that seems to be what is happening.

At what point do we think they will start to release DUS decisions?
They released some DUS decisions last Friday.
There were several DUS acceptances reported about a week ago. We are waiting on DUS too…
So when are we thinking a bunch more OOS?
