Congrats to all who have heard back! S25 still waiting. We knew this would be a reach but interested to hear what past years have shown for no response this late? Are we likely now in the deferred bucket? (OOS, DUS, Summer Checked, Amazing EC’s but definite on the cusp GPA (UW 3.4, W 3.6) Son is really bummed as others have started hearing back at his h.s. this week so just trying to prep him a bit so it doesn’t ruin Christmas!

I would not assume that. My child has very high stats and we are still waiting to hear. I think they just received that many applications and ours somehow landed at the bottom

Hello, when submitting a “reconsideration” there is not way to submit any type of supporting documentation correct? My daughter did not see anywhere to add/upload it.
If I’m reading this right, are all EA decisions coming out in the next two days? It says they are on winter break starting the 23rd, so if they’re going to hit the deadline of 12/24 they’d have to give them all out by Friday considering they don’t work weekends and are on break starting Monday.

Generally high stat son here… really not sure what’s going on b/c his application was submitted mid-August … and radio silence.
Two years back brother with lower stats finished application mid-September and was notified early November.
Makes me think “yield protection”??? Uncertain… it wouldn’t seem like PSU is a school with a primary concern on yield.

My daughter submitted her request last Friday and just got her email today.
Unfortunately he’s one of the many unlucky folks whose file is yet to be picked.
But I can assure you that if he has high stats and rigor, he’d get a positive outcome.
As much as I love folks working at PSU admissions - they are super nice, I’ll forever remain critical of their review process. It’s hard to not be bothered when you keep seeing everyone around you hearing back.
Please don’t let the kid worry about it, and be patient (even though I couldn’t be myself.)

No, if you do the request on the portal there’s no box to add any kind of statement.

Penn State would be smart to offer a 1+3 option to a subset of kids who just missed the cut for UP. Those kids in the 3.5-3.7 range that came up a little short. Those are the kids that won’t accept 2+2 and will go elsewhere. Too low for UP, too high for branch. Pretty sure a good chunk of these kids could be retained if they only had to do 1 year at a satellite.

Their goal is to fill the satellite locations and so they make everyone select their second campus option. It should be optional. They won’t have any problem with filling UP slots. Most OOS applicants have other better options than 2+2 at PSU. UP is the reason OOS are interested in PSU.

Unbelievable!!! The ability to toggle TO is still there… that leaves like waiting maybe Friday night for the TO to disappear and then hearing Saturday morning. This is really turning everyone off at this point…
I’m going to wait till closer to 7:30pm and then also check lionpath. I feel the same as you but if kid is admitted to UP, I could almost look past it.

Yes, 2+2 is a non-starter for OOS. That’s the boat my daughter is in. PSU is by far her first choice, but zero chance she’ll take 2+2. She has said it would be different if it was just 1 year.

The night we found out our TO button didn’t disappear until after 8 and the letter didn’t show up in communications until after 9. Good luck and I hope you hear soon!!!
