You can’t get into Lion Path until you are admitted. If you can’t get in, a decision probably hasn’t been made.

@MYOS1634 Any advice on alternate major for reconsideration? 3.3, OOS, Good EC’s, DECA, double alumni + sibling at UP. She applied DUS, summer and got Altoona 2+2 
Obvi a branch is less than ideal for OOS. What is the best option for switching majors for reconsideration? Communications, Liberal Arts? - and can that major/college be altered after acceptance? Does it make sense to wait for updated grades to be submitted/updated as that will raise GPA? Any insight appreciated.

My kiddo was accepted today! UP fall admission, Eberly College of Science (Bio), SAT 1490, in state, high GPA, strong extracurriculars, both parents alums.

Should I send an email with first marking period grades?
My son is in the same situation, OOS, 3.3 unweighted, 28 ACT (1320 SAT), only got Altoona 2+2, and applied for School of Liberal Arts, Economics. Is there any option for reconsideration?
Just got in last night. 3.74 W 3.6 UW 1250 Submitted DUS. Applied straight to summer. WE ARE. Thank you all for helping me along this process.

Curious, if anyone knows how much more advantageous it is to apply straight summer start versus a fall start with the summer option.

Man, I’m really starting to get worried. I’ve seen so many engineering majors get in, and I still have nothing. Congrats to everyone that has gotten in in the meantime! Hopefully my wait will be over ASAP…

What classes is she getting As in for her first quarter senior year?
(Not sure first quarter grades would be reviewed or would help but at least they give an idea of her areas of strength).
I’m afraid the further away from 3.5 an applicant is, the unlikelier admission to UP becomes, but she has a right to reconsideration so let’s dig in and see if something can be done

I think you’ll be fine considering your stats and rigor. I’d be shocked if you didn’t get in! We are in the same boat here - applied to College of Engineering, 3.92 UW, 4.4 W, high rigor with 9 APs including AP Calc BC (got 4 on Calc AB exam), 8 other honors courses. Fingers crossed for all of us!

i applied striaght to summer term but my box says fall 2025 start and just YEs next to summer consideration. is that how’s it’s supposed to look?
If I got As first marking period in my three AP( psych lit and gov) and all other As (other than calculus) i am applying as a psych major.
would they appreciate an email with that transcript.

As long as you’re not failing Calculus, it wouldn’t hurt for sure. Whether it’ll make a difference I can’t say. In any case, congratulations on doing so well in hard classes

It’s definitely faster since they evaluate you just once and you’re in a smaller pool.
