Wow! Those are great stats and ec’s. I’m surprised that equaled a branch campus. I’m super nervous now. . Did you check the box that you would do Summer?
Congrats and best of luck at Tulane!
Thank you. I did not check the summer box, and I regretfully checked the “berks” box for 2nd choice. I wasn’t thinking, but they might have thought, “hey, this person will be happy at Berks, lets give them Berks.” … but no. That old saying that you love the school that loves you back, PSU felt too… unexcited about me, so I’m choosing a warmer clime and moving on.
Please don’t get nervous; this process seems somewhat random, and I would appeal if I weren’t so excited about other options where I don’t have any hoops to jump through – you will get into a school that is perfect for you!
3.6 uw, 3.84 weighted, 1360 sat. 2 APS, tons of honors course though. Social media/pr Internship my senior year and a few other communications related clubs.
That’s in the portal? No, but try to get into Lion Path and see if you see an admission letter in the Communications. If you can’t get into Lion Path, there is no decision yet. If you meant in Lion Path, then go to the top right and click on the three horizontal bars and then Communications.
I saw that Penn State is getting over 100,000 applications this year and can only admit 10,000 to main campus. Is this true? Seems outrageous if it is…
Worked as everyone said, Test Optional Button disappeared and then we logged onto lionspath.psu.edu and letter was in communications tab. D24 into UP for Econ. OOS, CA
Still waiting on DUS…my son truly does not know what he wants to major in, but with so many posts of students switching to DUS, I’m wondering if it would be advisable to switch to a less competitive major now or wait it out and have a reconsideration prepared if needed.
Tulane was ED only so far so I think u had to withdraw other applications Anyway
so it all worked out.
I changed my application to EA a month ago, but yes, I am aware of the ED process
The last few years they’ve had over 100,000. They will account for yield though. So they want about 9500 committed freshman so they will send acceptances to about 3-4 times that knowing many will choose another school. Colleges have formulas they use to get the numbers they need
Wisco hasn’t announced yet if i’m correct???

Good luck!!
That’s true for regular admisison, this is through their posse program
I got accepted tonight for Biomedical Engineering at UP!!!
Hi all! Like many of you, I have tracked this thread nightly to see which colleges are releasing decisions, etc. I have also watched the underlying competition of stats among the applicants (mostly parents) unfold. Last night, my child did not receive the decision she was hoping for. Most of her sadness was due to the fact that her sibling is a current freshman at University Park. We know a reconsideration may be requested, but it won’t change the initial disappointment. The point of my message … be mindful when choosing your words. The applicants who have put in the work are reading this thread, too! (Examples: My student has higher stats than that, I don’t know why they are still waiting. Only the kids with lower stats do summer session.)
And to the answer one parent’s question: Yes, high stat students can and WILL be “farmed” out no matter how long you wait. My child is an example. “Branched” might be a more dignified word to consider. If anybody hears a student walking around a campus making farm animal noises, that’s my child embracing being “farmed out.” She’s a glass half-full kind of person!
Congratulations!! Would you mind sharing your stats?
I take the IB so I had a predicted 37/45 and I take Higher Level Chemistry, Biology and Psychology and Standard Level Math AA (Analysis and Approaches), Spanish B and English A Language and Literature.
Tulane really makes the most sense - and in your case, they probably figured you’d have a better choice (or would ask for reconsideration if really interested). Congratulations , Tulane is an awesome choice.
You can send first quarter grades and explain about the summer job, but they already considered you for Fall/UP/Advertising so you’d have to apply for another, less competitive major unless you’re fine starting at another campus.
