There isn’t really a “film school.” It’s Film Studies. Basically you’ll take study/analysis courses at Pitt and production classes at Pittsburgh Filmmakers.

To be completely honest, Pitt isn’t a film school. There’s definitely resources to take advantage of in Pittsburgh, but you’ll have to do it yourself. I just saw this on craigslist:

[Extras Casting: Major Motion Picture ($100/day)](http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/tfr/1645030223.html)

They do film a lot of movies around here. The film classes are okay but don’t expect anything on the level of USC/NYU/ or a real “production” major.

That said, the people in those departments are really cool, and the class sizes are very small. There’s probably 15 people in my production course, 15 in Composition:Film, and 25 in my analysis course.

Send me a PM if you have any other questions.
