It sounds like he is applying exclusively to conservatory/music school programs. Is he considering and college or university programs? If he is interested in a dual degree, there are many possibilities, but the main ones mentioned on here tend to be Tufts/NEC, Harvard/NEC, Bard, Oberlin and Lawrence. Many of the schools you mentioned have the option too. What else would he want to study besides music? Does he think about dual major or dual degree? <p>He might want to listen to the music of faculty and students to get a feel for the aesthetics of each place, though that is more of an issue with grad studies. Still, at the undergrad level, it is good to study with teachers whose music and whose philosophy is consistent with what your son wants to do. Is he interested in electronics at all?</p>
