Performing Arts Audition Coach?

I’d just like to add that I think it’s important to make sure that the people you hire are knowledgeable about the COLLEGE audition scene. It’s important to have a good working relationship so that you can grow in your work but it’s equally important that whoever you hire be familiar with the programs that you are auditioning for because it’s not a one size fits all process. It’s great if they have other talented and successful students but it’s even better if some of their students got into the same programs you are interested in.

I wouldn’t change any of the professionals that my S worked with to prepare for his auditions but if we had to do it again, I may have hired someone in addition to these coaches specifically to help him select his monologues based on what schools and programs he was auditioning for. I felt that this was the weakest link in the process for my S. The coaching was terrific but, after the fact, I’m not sure that the working actor we hired had enough experience with college auditions to know all of the dos and don’ts of the process. We’ll see soon enough. And yet, in the end, I’m sure it will work out just as it is meant to be.
