fergsonfire,
Just a reminder that plebes can’t drink alcohol unless they’re on leave (not liberty), and over the legal drinking age.

BTW girls, spidermd is handsome enough to take your breath away AND he is a really NICE person too, but will be off limits if you’re going to be a plebe because soon he will be a plebe-no-more, in otherwords, an upperclassman! Congratulations spidermd!

I know it’s a cover…the reference to it being a ‘hat’ is quoted from someone else on the board. ROTC is not so far out there that we don’t use simple terms such as cover, bulkhead, ladder, deck, etc…

Wow, there is really a disproportionate number of girls on the USNA forum. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, just interesting demographics.

Are plebes not allowed to date upper classmen? Is dating allowed at the academy… Also, is like kissing in the hallways or holding hands inappropriate at the academy. Sorry for these noob questions but i was just curious about how the academies take to sexual relations at the academy?

PDA is not allowed at the academy and plebes can not date period, if I remember right. Damn everyone looks like babies. I feel like an old man applying. oh um pictures of me even though I havent been accepted yet.

From things I’ve read in various places, plebes cannot date upperclassmen and you can only date if the person is not in your company. PDA is def. frowned upon. I think peoples personal relationships arent really supposed to be common knowledge. Thats just the info Ive gathered.

Correct, with dating:
-Upperclass (1/C, 2/C, and 3/C) CANNOT date plebes
-No one of any class can date within the company (including those MIDN who hold out-of-company billets but are assigned to the same company).

-PDA’s are allowed while not in uniform and outside Bancroft Hall (assuming the rules above are followed)

-Relationships can be common knowledge in a company (usually within a specific class). It just depends.

Is everyone on the same page with “PDA’s”. It first came up on this thread in the context of dating and sexual relations. Am I missing something (I consider a PDA to be like a Palm or Pocket PC type thing)?

Wow! So it was in proper context of the original post. Thanks folks…(Though I’m not sure which generation “Public Display of Affection” is from ;)) Certainly the other definition is maybe a liiiitttle dated, but not by much :)
