I actually happen to have an electronic copy (a .pdf) of 2011’s Contrails. If anyone’s interested, PM me and I’ll e-mail it to you.

That being said, here’s the deal with Contrails: it’s a fickle subject. I can certainly understand you wanting to get a head start and hit the ground running, but it’s not uncommon to see new basics misusing this jump start that they’ve acquired. By knowing things that their classmates don’t, they make their classmates look bad, which in turn reflects poorly on them. It’s not a good cycle.

So here’s my advice: if you want to use it, great. Just don’t try to go out and memorize everything you think you’ll need to know. If you do decide to look at it in advance, use it to learn about the AF, its history, and why we do some of the things we do. Rather than picking up specific bits of knowledge, use it to familiarize yourself with the AF and the Academy. I think this would actually be productive, which is why I’ve offered to send it out.
