Pet Insurance Saved Our Kitty

I have got to change my attitude. I am treating this dog like a grandchild, wanting to be sure he is happy and entertained. I remember getting upset with my mom when she let my kids get away with everything because she didn’t want to be the bad guy. Unfortunately, being the bad guy in this case means locking the dog in his “jail” and my leaving the house. Which makes me feel guilty… sigh

Dog was 100 times better-behaved today. I’m thinking the pain pills he was taking were making him hyper. He had his last one 36 hours ago and is much calmer but also is limping a lot more. Probably to make me feel sorry for him. haha. I think I can tolerate him if he stays like this.

musicmom, pain pills can alter dogs’ personalities! My absolute angel of a dog turned into unto an unruly devil when he was recovering from his surgery. As soon as he was off the painkillers and not in pain, he was back to normal.

Keep a watchful eye on him and do not let him get too frisky. The limping is probably due to inflammation and some pain.

And OP: yay for you and your kitty!!!

Update: took the dog to the vet for the 8-weeks post surgery X-ray this morning. The bone has not healed. At all. It is still in alignment, which is great, but I have at least four more weeks of being tied to this dog. I am so sick of it. I can’t go away for the weekend or even go out to lunch with friends during the work week because I have to come home and take him out to potty. Now I have to start giving him calcium supplements. And he still can’t entertain himself. I think more chocolate is in order. :)

our dog has joint issues, & this stuff helped alot- I think it would help heal connective tissue.

[Nutramax Laboratories, Inc.](http://www.nutramaxlabs.com/Vet/Products/Dasuquin-for-dogs.aspx)
She had taken both Cosequin & Dasuquin ( not at same time)

But take some chocolate as well.

Oh, musicmom, hang in there. Chocolates and red wine are very therapeutic in these situations (for the human, of course). Why, oh why do they say, “heals like a dog”?

Megmno, could you update us whether you really do get reimbursed the the amount you are expecting?
