Yes, if you went to a school where your stats would earn you merit and you can get the pre-pharmacy part as affordable as possible as to keep loans down and then go to your state school for pharmacy program that is a good plan.
I would apply to UMD, some schools in neighboring states and see what your 6-8 yr cost is going to be for you.
If you are not sure about becoming a pharmacist I would major in something you are interested in while taking your pharmacy prerequisites.
There are also 2+4 programs that will allow you to get your PharmD in 6 years but you do have to apply in the 2nd year of undergrad and take the PCAT. University of South Carolina and University of Cincinnati are two of them. At USC if you get an undergrad scholarship they let you use the second two years of scholarship in the first two years of the PharmD program which is a great thing to know you have scholarship for 4 years. And you also get a Bachelors of Pharmaceutical Sciences after 4 years which is great of you decide you don’t want to continue with the program…at least you have an undergrad degree.
Hello,
“TheDidactic”. I am inquiring if you know the best undergraduate Pharmacy in State of California. I’m rising senior graduating HS 2017 and interested in Pharmacy or Engineering as 2nd choice.
