I submitted a photo, but it was this professional one I had taken of me playing the violin since that is a big part of my life, was what I wrote my essay about, and I felt it was better than just submitting the typical senior photo. I’m sure either is fine, though. I’m not sure how much it weighs on your chance of getting accepted, but like what @robotrainbow said, I would want to see a face to the name when reviewing an application. Good luck!!!
