<p>Ha,ha–popovers in a gas fireplace. A fine mess that would be. I only make them when my darling son is home to eat them. </p>

<p>I’d always wanted a fireplace too. Mine vent to the outside, but there are some now that you can put anywhere and they don’t have to vent.</p>
<p>My painter got it going again today–one advantage of having construction people roaming around the house.</p>

<p>I have a large brick fireplace for a gas insert. Relining the chimney was never a big economic priority, so never have had a fire in this house, but now I think I’d prefer a gas insert, as would future buyers.</p>
