I looked on the Isaly’s website and under frequently asked questions, it gives you ways you can order chipped ham and barbecue sauce. I just got some chipped ham from my store in Virginia. No Isaly’s here so had to make due with Smithfield Cooked Ham. The key is to ask them to shave it very fine.
I’m going to be sure to have the real thing when I’m in Pittsburgh next month-Isaly’s chipped ham and barbecue sauce.

Seriously? Wal-mart supercenters in CT have Islay’s chipchopped ham? sigh I thought I’d be able to get through the rest of my life without ever setting foot in Wal-mart. I guess not…

Family lore has it that my uncle, while working at Islays, lost the tip of his finger while making chipped ham…it was never found…

JustaMom,Funny story about your uncle(although I’m sure not funny to him!). You’re right, I should have also mentioned that the Isaly’s website also lists where you can buy the chipped ham in other states. For Virginia, it is sold at “select” Wal Mart Supercenters. Unfortunately, I don’t think mine is one of them. But I’ll get some soon. It is the Isaly’s barbecue sauce that I crave as well!
