WHEN will you pursue that option? Many people have already begun the process of applying for an HSSP AFROTC scholarship at the end of their junior years and beginning of their senior years.

USAFA is sometimes referred to as the “little engineering school in the Rockies”. As a plan C (after the AFROTC scholarship application) I would recommend you attend a four year college with an AFROTC Detachment on campus. Join the detachment (and wow them with your enthusiasm and effort) and pursue many of the same classes that you would take the first year at USAFA…physics, calculus, chemistry, English and a foreign language. Doing well on those classes will be helpful in demonstrating to USAFA that you can handle their academics. A strong recommendation from your detachment will also help your cause.

Good luck.
