OK, so I attended the Plan II session over a year ago, and it’s not as if I transcribed it word-for-word. So if y’all are saying the decisions have been made, but not yet announced, I’m not going to disagree.
Besides, that seems to perfectly explain the reason for my earlier hypothesis - that the only good news still to come out of Plan II is for those who HAVEN’T gained admission to their 1st choice major yet.
Those of you who already have a major, you can forget about Plan II - it ain’t in the cards, bro.

@rabihorn - congrats to her!! can you share her stats and if she is already in another major and if she was auto? did your status on line change or did she get the letter in the mail? and if so where do you live?

My daughter was already admitted to COLA back in mid December. She is non-auto in state, top 12%, ACT 34, lots of EC and great essays.

My son received his LAH acceptance today! We’ve been waiting for this since 10/22. Very happy for him… best of luck to everyone waiting.
I was just accepted earlier this week! Checked mystatus and it was there! I had already been admitted to my major. In state, no automatic acceptance, 4.0 UW, 2370 SAT. So, andydufresne is at least partially wrong. I submitted my app before October 15th and JUST heard back. Don’t lose hope!

I have an admissions status update from inside UT. According to my Longhorn (who is a current freshman in LAH), UT does not expect to release admissions decisions until very close to their published decision date of March 1. LAH has made all their admissions decisions, but the university has not finished theirs yet. With the automatic admission for the Class of 2020 at 8%, the number of applicants is up this year. UT is also expecting a record number of freshmen next fall.
Before anyone asks, this information was shared with Liberal Arts Honors students in class last week. I realize it’s completely opposite of what @Nc357159 posted in another thread and I can’t explain that, sorry.
The good news is that March 1 is only 2 weeks away.
Anybody heard anything from Plan II or LAH today? All of the first-choice decisions are being posted to MyStatus this evening. I’m not sure if the Honors decisions are being posted as well. The UT Admissions Twitter is sending mixed messages. At first it was “all decisions will be posted tonight.” But now its “honors should be posted tonight.”
So now the Twitter says that Honors is still under review. Get it together UT.
I just wanted to post a few things about my son’s situation to help other applicants this year and in the future! He applied to both LAH and Plan II in Sept. 2015. He was an auto admit (5/120 rank), 97/100 GPA, 29 ACT (36 in both english and writing, bombed science), 2050 SAT, all AP classes, state-level debater, varsity athlete, excellent recommendations and essays. He received notice of his major (BS Psych) in Nov. and was admitted in LAH on Jan. 22, 2016. He found out today via email that he is waitlisted for Plan II. He’s more interested in LAH because of the broader curriculum choices, so he is very happy. He applied to a dozen other very competitive schools across the country so he is waiting to hear back from them before he makes a decision, but he is excited about being offered a spot in UT’s honors program. For those of you waiting to hear about Plan II, I would assume that it’s coming today. Best of luck to all.

did he email and ask or did they just send him an email. did his acceptance online mention anything about “while you wait to hear regarding your planII applications, you haven been admitted to…”
He received an email yesterday from the director of Plan II Honors that was a few paragraphs long and very nicely informed him that he is on the wait list.
I’m hoping that my cut/paste job works. This is what his status said at the end of the day. Before that, it said something about his application being under review.
