Plane ticket and getting to Dartmouth

I know I can use scholarship money for books. Can I use outside scholarships for plane ticket costs?

<p>You probably will not be able to use the outside scholarship for your plane ticket. You will have to report the outside scholarship to the school.</p>

<p>Students who receive scholarships from external sources can use these funds to reduce the loan and/or job portions of their financial aid packages. </p>

<p>If the outside scholarship is greater than the self-help level, the family responsibility can be reduced to the federal level. (In many cases, outside scholarships do not reduce the Dartmouth family contribution.) </p>
