<p>@Smother I saw the news. I was shocked because I was under the impression applicants had to show interest and passion for animation and not get in because the parent forced them to apply. That really made me think twice. It’s bad enough my daughter has been in high school animation for 4 years with hardly anyone taking the class because they want to or want to be an animator. She wants to be with passionate animators, those who who love doing what they are doing. What I liked about Chapman’s supplemental application prompts is they KNOW with certainty who is dedicated, who wants to work as a team and who loves this art form.</p>
<p>I am/was like you thinking that Chapman is still new…but reading about Chapman having more interns made me take pause. Further, every day my daughter is also concerned with S. Central LA, drugs in dorms and getting shot. I can thank her ex cop grandpa for that fear. She’s Canadian born so this is a cultural thing too. 
I think I’d feel safer with her riding a cruiser bike to the Orange Circle. Plus Disneyland is close and she can use her annual pass. She has her Panther for a day set up, and I’m going with her to preview day. Anyway hopefully everyone will be happy with their decision in the end.</p>
