<p>UCgradmary… even though I’m an ABC and I lived my first couple years of life without much Chinese influence… I love the Chinese culture so much… I REALLY… I don’t know… all I know is I really want to pursue this badly… maybe Huntsman is not worth the shot? I’m not sure</p>
<p>one more thing… asdfjkl1… the movie thing is great… but I was just a part of the team… and I was not the director nor the producer of the film… All that shows on the credits is that I am was a music composer/translator… also the awards won were for the entire team… not exclusively for me…</p>
<p>That is a pessimistic view of course… I put 3 years of my time into that film… and others even more… working the film practically changed the way I looked at life… and I became to know the Director (also a professor at my local univ) very well.</p>

<p>You have great stats and a clear passion BUT you are an ORM from an overrepresented state. Your competition is first the slew of Californian Asian applicants and second the slew of Asians from all over the Country and third the slew of international Asians. Out of all of those highly accomplished Asian applicants, top private colleges will limit acceptances to about 15%. A lot of high stas Asians simply won’t go to top colleges for this reason. </p>
<p>I would raise the CR score and then you would get a second look by top schools. I would also not try Huntsman with my native language ED, but sure give it a try RD.</p>

<p>CC is confidential for (part of) the reason that I can receive an objective response. I posted my stats here for a realistic answer… so I can learn something from the responses and see what I can do to improve myself within this limited time…</p>
<p>On another subject… it seems that the general response is that I should not apply ED for huntsman as it is my “native language?” English is actually my native language… my family barely speaks Chinese at home… I come from a family that wants their children to be “americanised…” I picked up the language in middle school. But… I see that you guys have a point here… because my skin colour and my language selected for Huntsman are the same.</p>

You have a 3.92 UW and yet you’re still in the top 1%? That doesn’t reflect too well on the competitiveness of your school, probably both academically and extracurricularly
The SAT score is way too low for an Asian, especially math for someone who’s reaching for HUNTSMAN</p>
<p>Also, speaking as someone from a pretty well known high school(last year my school sent 2 to Huntsman, a couple to Warton and 30% to ivies out of a graduating class of 300), I think your EC’s are too concentrated on the “Chinese” aspect. Yes, you should demonstrate interest in China if that’s what you’re going to study, but all your leadership experience (newspaper aside) can’t all be within the Chinese community. Assimilate.</p>
<p>670 on CR isn’t going to break you IMO. I think you have a great shot like anyone else.</p>
<p>Some schools do not have the A+ 4.3, so that may be why 3.92 is top 1%, or august goes to a large school</p>
