If OP has interest, can run the NPC.
I guess my point is I would not ED anywhere above budget based on the NPC, unless the budget is flexible.
One should not assume that an appeal will work unless it is handle b4 hand.
If $40k is the absolute max for the family, it would be unethical for OP to ED Bowdoin.
